HOLIDAY CHEER

As we get closer to the end of 2015, our hearts fill with joy and even sadness as the holidays consume us.  Thanksgiving, what a wonderful time of year to get together with family that we may not see for months and sometimes years.

Thanksgivings have changed for me over the years.  From 20+ of my family members gathering at our home of normally three, mom making everything from scratch and me creating little turkey shaped name markers for each plate.  Aunts and uncles and tons of cousins gathering to be together in love and thanks.

Thanksgiving has always been a special day for me and my parents.  I was adopted just beforehand.  The process was very different back in the 60's as I had only been born in October and a wonderful social worker made sure that I was HOME for the holidays.  Mr. Ault, you  have always been in my prayers for this gift.

Both of my parents are gone now, making those wonderful holiday
memories even more special to me.  So I celebrate the joy, as I create new memories with my son, husband and his family and the longing, as I remember those who are no longer with us.  From all that knew you mom and dad (and so many other loved ones), we miss you dearly, but your love will shine in our hearts forever.

Here are some photos from our most recent Thanksgiving.  Its very different, but we love being with family, wherever we are.

FALL DRIVE 2015

Once again, my beautiful friend Alexis  and I ventured out into the day to capture some of the magic of fall.  On this day, we discovered a botanical scenic drive at Hidden Lake Gardens.
As always, our day was not a disappointment.
