ZEN AND BLESSINGS

December is such a busy month in our life and I imagine for everyone.  Our family winds down soccer for the season, Multicultural Fair at my son's school (this is a big presentation from all classrooms, K-8) and of course, getting ready for the celebration of our faith.  From Christmas to Hanukkah, our family loves the tree, cooking, baking,  gift giving, and family gatherings.

As I begin baking cookies to give to our neighbors, I remember many years of baking with my mom.  I wish I had had more time with her.  I have so many questions to ask her.  I wish I had learned so many of her recipes, but I was only in my 30's when she left.  I always thought there would be time. Sometimes there's not.

So as you gather or hesitate to gather, remember, this is your family.  Whoever that may be.  Be peaceful, be kind and show love.  That's all that really matters.  ZEN and Blessings to you and your family!  Janice

HOLIDAY CHEER

As we get closer to the end of 2015, our hearts fill with joy and even sadness as the holidays consume us.  Thanksgiving, what a wonderful time of year to get together with family that we may not see for months and sometimes years.

Thanksgivings have changed for me over the years.  From 20+ of my family members gathering at our home of normally three, mom making everything from scratch and me creating little turkey shaped name markers for each plate.  Aunts and uncles and tons of cousins gathering to be together in love and thanks.

Thanksgiving has always been a special day for me and my parents.  I was adopted just beforehand.  The process was very different back in the 60's as I had only been born in October and a wonderful social worker made sure that I was HOME for the holidays.  Mr. Ault, you  have always been in my prayers for this gift.

Both of my parents are gone now, making those wonderful holiday
memories even more special to me.  So I celebrate the joy, as I create new memories with my son, husband and his family and the longing, as I remember those who are no longer with us.  From all that knew you mom and dad (and so many other loved ones), we miss you dearly, but your love will shine in our hearts forever.

Here are some photos from our most recent Thanksgiving.  Its very different, but we love being with family, wherever we are.

FALL DRIVE 2015

Once again, my beautiful friend Alexis  and I ventured out into the day to capture some of the magic of fall.  On this day, we discovered a botanical scenic drive at Hidden Lake Gardens.
As always, our day was not a disappointment.

NEW FAMILY MEMBER

DAISY  B.

This is Daisy B.  She was 9 weeks old when I first met her.  So adorable, a white fluffy ball that could fit in your hand.  Since then, Daisy B. has grown a bit.  I'm happy I was able to capture her as a tiny puppy and looking so confident!  I can't wait to see her and her family again as she grows.

WITH GOALS IN MIND

Both Barb and Mark are clients that are promoting themselves.  Both pursueing their newest goals and they asked me to take a head shot for them.  I love that I was able to capture their personalities too.
